How to Hide WhatsApp Images and Videos from Gallery: In today's world each and everyone as a smartphone. Smartphones became more popular because they have great features like camera, voice calling, video calling, and internet. And we can buy one at an affordable cost. well coming to point Whatsapp is our favorite app and it is one of the popular app ever because of best features like chatting, calling, sharing files, etc. WhatsApp even allows you to make free calls using the internet.

In Whatsapp messenger, we share many images and videos which we find interesting and funny with our friends and we do receive many images and videos from our friends. But the problem is these images appear in the gallery along with regular images, but if you have some important images then you may get confused and frustrated. The solution to this problem is you can hide WhatsApp images from the gallery, then you don’t see any WhatsApp images or videos in your phone gallery. 

To hide Whatsapp images and videos from gallery there are different ways to hide we will see those methods one by one.

How To Hide Whatsapp Images and Videos from Gallery


Dot (.) Method


The first method is Dot method. It is the best way to hide images or videos from gallery. In this method, we are going to create a file called “.nomedia” file and this file is going the hide your WhatsApp media file.

Step 1: The first step is to download file manager app called ES File Explorer, or you can use any file manager app that you comfortable with. I am using ES File Explorer. Open the file explorer by tapping on the icon from the app drawer.

Step 2: Next step is to find “WhatsApp Images” folder. To find go to Internal storage of your phone, search for “WhatsApp” and tap on that folder and tap on “Media” file, then you are going to see some folders as shown in the below figure.


Step 3: Now, Tap on “WhatsApp Images” folder there you can see all the images you received from your friends.

Step 4: here is the important thing you should do to hide images. You should create a file “.nomedia” creating this file will hide all images on this folder.

If you find any difficulty in creating “.nomedia” file then follow the below steps.

Step 1: Firstly go to Settings >> Display Setting and tap on “Show hidden file”.
Step 2:  Go to “WhatsApp Images” folder by following steps as explained earlier, and tap on “Sent” folder.
Step 3: In “Sent” folder you can see “.nomedia” file. Simply copy that file and past it in the “WhatsApp Images” folder. That’s it all the images are hidden from the gallery.

To Hide WhatsApp Videos 


For hiding WhatsApp videos you should follow the same steps which we used to hide images.

Step 1: Navigate to “WhatsApp Videos” folder where you can see all the videos you received.
Step 2: Create “.nomedia” file to hide all videos present in that folder.

That’s it by doing the above steps you can hide all the WhatsApp videos from gallery. What if you want to see all images and videos again back in the gallery. So follow below steps to unhide.

How to Unhide WhatsApp Images and videos


To unhide media files you just navigate to “WhatsApp Images” and “WhatsApp Videos” folder. Now delete the “.nomedia” file which you created earlier to hide media files. Now you can see all the images and videos appear back in the gallery.

Hide WhatsApp Images and Videos using Audio Manager App


Another way to hide WhatsApp images and videos is by using an android app called Audio Manager. Follow below steps to use Audio Manager app. You can also hide specific image or video.

Step 1: Download Audio Manager (Hide Photos, Video -hide it pro). Click here, to download.
Step 2: Open the Audio Manager App where you can see all volume control options because to prevent others knowing that the app is used to hide files. Now long press on the “Audio Manager” logo at the top.

Step 3: Now it asks you to set pin code or password. You can choose anyone to protect the files from others.
Step 4:  after setting up the password. You are taken into Vault layout. Tap on picture and tap on plus (+) symbol at the top corner to create a folder. Give any name to a folder and create it.
Step 5: Open that folder you created and tap on plus (+) symbol at the top corner to select pictures from the gallery which you would like to hide from the gallery.

That’s it all images you selected will be hidden from the gallery. To unhide WhatsApp videos just follow the same steps which we used to hide images.

How to Unhide WhatsApp Images and Videos in Audio Manager


Step 1: Open Audio Manager app by long pressing on the logo.
Step 2: Navigate to the folder which contains hidden images or videos.
Step 3: Now, select images or videos which you want to unhide.
Step 4: After selecting the images or videos then tap on “unhide” option at the bottom.
Step 5: Now, a pop-up comes saying “Select the folder where you want to put the file”. Just select a path to put your media files and tap on unhide.

That’s it now you can see the images or videos starts appearing in the gallery.
